The Crease Fly has
taken the saltwater fly fishing world by storm! Created by Capt. Joe Blados of Greenport,
NY the Crease Fly was first intended to take striped bass and bluefish. Later it showed
it's value against bonito, albacore and spanish mackerel. Word of this new pattern
quickly spread across the country and the world. Before long, the Crease
Fly had proven itself for taking all manner of game fish including redfish/drum, snook, jacks, roosterfish, grouper,
'cuda, king mackerel, all species of tunas - in short just about any game fish anywhere in the
world! And it proved itself in freshwater as well for such game fish as
large mouth and small mouth bass, pike, muskie and freshwater stripers.
Originally the Crease Fly was not intended as a popper. That is a
common mistake owing to it's shape. While it can be popped or fished on the surface
(and is deadly when fished that way!),
the Crease Fly is intended to be fishing sub-surface on a steady retrieve preferably against a
current. It can also be fished day or night, shallow or deep. These Crease Flies have been made for us by a well known local tier.
